The short answer

A small business website in Wichita runs from about $17 a month on a DIY builder to $5,000 to $15,000 from an agency. Ours is $499 to build, up to 10 pages and one backend system, then $49 a month on a three-year contract, or $1,449 once, live in about two weeks. You own the domain, hosting account, code and content from day one, and you see a working demo before paying the rest.

Cost and pricing

What does a small business website cost in Wichita?

From about $17 a month on a DIY builder to $5,000 to $15,000 from a Wichita agency, the range Clutch gives for a small brochure site. Ours is $499 to build plus $49 a month, or $1,449 once. The Wichita cost guide has every tier and its source.

How much does a website cost per month to run?

A domain runs about $10 to $19 a year, and hosting with maintenance runs $50 to $250 a month nationally for a small business, or $150 to $500 from Wichita agencies. Our care plan is $49 a month, hosting included.

Is $499 enough for a professional website?

It can be, if the provider has the tools to work fast and the scope is clear. Ours covers a custom site of up to 10 pages and one backend system; larger sites are quoted before signing. See what $499 buys.

Why do some designers charge $5,000 and others $499?

Different teams, tools and scope. Agencies bill a team at $75 to $150 an hour in Wichita and often write the content; smaller studios with their own tools need fewer hours. Compare what is included, not only the price.

Are there hidden fees with pay-monthly websites?

Look for setup fees, 12-month minimums with the rest due if you leave early, hourly charges for changes, and domains held in the provider's name. Our care is a three-year contract with the exit cost written down: after 24 monthly payments you can cancel anytime. Extras are priced before you sign.

How much do web designers charge per hour in Kansas?

Clutch puts Wichita web design firms at $75 to $150 an hour, and Thumbtack's national figures for website developers are $50 to $85. We price builds as fixed amounts rather than hours.

Ownership and contracts

Do I own my website if I pay every month?

Only if the domain, hosting account, content and code are in your name or contracted to you. On builders and many monthly plans you are renting. With us you own all four from day one. See the ownership guide.

What happens to my website if I stop paying?

On a builder or rented plan, it usually goes offline. On our care plan, everything stays yours and our monitoring, fixes and changes stop; the exit plan written at the start says how it keeps running.

Can I take my website to another designer later?

With us, yes: you hold the code, content, domain and hosting account, and get a plain-language guide to running it. With builders like Wix, the design cannot be exported, so a move means a rebuild.

Who should own my domain name?

You, as the registrant, in an account you log in to. Search your domain at lookup.icann.org to see where it is registered, and make sure the login is yours.

What contract comes with your care plan?

Monthly care at $49 is a three-year contract. After 24 monthly payments you can cancel anytime; leaving sooner means paying the rest of those first 24 months. The $500 a year option is also a three-year contract, and our bundles run on a 12-month term.

DIY or hire, and how a build runs

Should I use Wix or Squarespace, or hire someone?

A builder is cheaper in cash, $408 to $1,176 over two years at published prices, and right for a simple site you will edit yourself. Hiring is worth it when your time, phone speed and owning the code matter. See the two-year comparison.

Is WordPress still worth it for a small business?

For a business that publishes a lot of articles or already has a working WordPress site with someone maintaining it, yes. Otherwise the plugin updates are a chore. Our sites are custom built with nothing to patch.

How long does it take to build a small business website?

Typically 4 to 8 weeks from an agency or freelancer, per Elementor's 2026 guide. Ours take about two weeks: a demo within a week of signing, launch within a week of approval. See timelines.

What do I need to give my web designer?

Your logo, photos, services and prices, hours, service area, logins for your domain and Google profile, and one person to approve. Our project brief walks through it.

Can I update my own website?

On ours, yes: hours, prices, specials, photos and staff from a simple screen on your phone. Anything bigger we do for you, with up to 10 small changes a month on care.

Do you redesign existing websites?

Yes, including moves off Wix, Squarespace, GoDaddy and WordPress, with every old address redirected. It is priced like a new build. See website redesign.

Getting found on Google and in AI answers

Will my new website show up on Google?

It will be set up so Google can crawl and understand it, with a Business Profile linked. Where it ranks depends on relevance, distance and prominence, including reviews, which no one can guarantee.

Do I need a Google Business Profile if I have a website?

Yes. The map in local searches comes from Business Profiles, and it is free. We set yours up with every website; Get Found on Google manages it for $99 a month.

How do I get more Google reviews without breaking the rules?

Ask every customer with a direct link and a counter card, and never offer anything in return or ask only happy customers, which Google's policy forbids. Reply to every review.

How do I get my business recommended by ChatGPT?

Write your services, prices, hours and area as text on your site, match your listings everywhere, and earn reviews. See showing up in AI answers.

How much does an AI chatbot for my business cost?

Our AI Front Desk is $299 to set up and $99 a month, trained on your real hours, menu and prices, and it hands off to a person when unsure. See AI Front Desk.
